No arguement from me Mr. Bob. Across the board change. Can't single out one or a few groups. And I suspect thats how we got here. Big elections this November. We'll see who comes out and throws the regulars out of office finally. And remember, One term and they get full retirement....
I'm gonna catch it for this from the class-warfare contingent, but here goes....Speaking as a Senior, Wormuth, I can see you're angry, however,if you can afford a computer and internet service to put voice to your frustration you can certainly afford your meds.. Additionally, we are not murderers if the State (taxpayers) fails to give you what you were told or think you deserve. That being said, it appears that the only way out of NY States financial debacle is a complete taxpayer revolt. Other than that, nothing will change in Albany except the shuffling around of Dollars (mostly imaginary) with 'fun with numbers' accounting practices.
There are many comments concerning "welfare". I have been hit again, this time severely by cuts in EPIC. I worked all of my life and can not afford the price of meds on part D. Now I must cancel meds. are you anti "welfare"/seniors" pro murdering seniors?
Cuomo can say anything and propose anything but if the rest of the boneheads don't go along with it nothing happens. Example is Fulton County Board of Stupidvisors. Under the control of the puppet master and one political party. Gee who's to be blame for this mess? Those that elected this puppet over and over. STOP voting the "PARTY LINE" The Party's over!
Imagine what Danny Donawho would do if we became a Right to work state and he would have a bunch of non due paying members! There goes all his expensive vacations!
What concerns me is the states debt. Albany shows no fiscal regard for the damage the debt is doing so what do you think they care about what damage property taxes are doing to each of us. How do you find confidence in a group of elected officials that show no concern? This is about state irresponsible actions costing people their homes. Homes are becoming part of the state’s transfer of wealth program.
Budget cuts, budget cuts and today the Governor wants to give raises to the all the Commissioners. All agencies had to cut operational budgets so the top can get raises. Time to vote out the old guard. Business as usual. Time to vote for a Public Referendum Law. NY needs one and politicians are scared of that. Takes their power away.
Some "follow the herd" much too easily, so when the call for "cuts" goes out it is seen as a must. Yet, the same folks are outraged when their loved one losses a job, simply because of "cuts". For instance, for the price of giving up the daily scratch off or quick pick or designer coffee you could probably save jobs (school budget cuts). Yet, the probem is seldom framed in such simple terms. Sure, prudence in budgeting is needed, but let's get real and used a balanced approach.
You will never get change when our officials rely on those that do nothing and receive. They want these people, thats how they stay in office. I believe not one thing they say. They are really doing nothing for the middle class but blowing smoke!!!!!!!!!
I do respect yours. I only hope people will start to take a real look at EVERYTHING not just what the person next them says as truth. Currently legislators looking for raise. Judges just got 27% and next the Governor will require one. Cell phones for welfare people,ETC ETC I'm hoping we can look for real answers not finger pointing.
Disco;I would drive them to Florida myself if it meant lower taxes .. Allhope; I personally know 2 people who have told me they are bored at work. I think I would start there.. Please dont get me wrong because I realize some state workers are needed . However,I feel there is alot of waste both in employment and state spending...other states are trimming , why cant NY ? I respect ur opinion and I would hope u respect mine .
Re the welfare overload....I'm told southern Florida alligators are hungry and very bold. Perhaps if we offered these free loaders a free ride down there we wouldn't hear from them again?
All talk, just like what I heard last night from Obama. They all say alot but do nothing. Can anyone one really tell me what thease people do. I see we are going reduce the size of our military, how about we reduce the size of goverment for they really add no value. That would be a real savings!
