yokie it was all a act, nothing was really solved. It was smoke and mirrors to lead you to believe he was doing something. Behind closed doors they are laughing at the people that buy into it.

Here's a money maker for the state, every elected official that is CONVICTED of wrong doing in office has to payback their entire salary from the day their were elected! How much can we get back from Convict Republican Joey Bruno???? And the recent rash of Democrats that were recently arrested! I didn't see any INDEPENDANT Candidates arrested...hmmmmm NOW we know why they call it a "PARTY!"

MrBoB51, the word 'next' does in fact infer a 'previous,' so let's take a look at some very RECENT history: Cuomo was pretty tough with the CSEA, PEF and the MTA last year, and nearly laid off almost 3500 workers. PEF did eventually ratify the Governor's proposed contract, which was revenue neutral.

I still say NYS is no longer managable without being broken up into at least 2 states and the District of NYCity. The downside is, there'd be two useless governments instead of one. The upside is it would take at least 30 years for the new governments to muddle things up again.

When the legislature passed the gay marriage bill, Cuomo was actually mentioned as Presidential material. I have nothing at all against gay people getting married, but aren't the woeful state of the economy and education more pressing issues!

I think Congressmen should wear uniforms, you know, like NASCAR drivers, so we could identify their corporate sponsors!!!

The reason Politicians try so hard to get re-elected is that they would 'hate' to have to make a living under the laws they've passed.

No, notgood, nobody can tell you because nothing, except talking, has been done and will not be done. Chasing one failed policy after another seems all Albany is capable of. Somebody might want to let NYS Govt that there is a huge land mass above NYC and we who live there are suffocating under the mandates imposed on us.

If Cuomo wanted to change anything he would have done so already. Now Albany is salivating at the prospect of State gambling casinos. Not manufacturing facilities, not 'shovel ready' jobs, just casinos. The State Govt cant fleece the 'producers' much more that they already are so Casinos fit the picture nicely. The tribal casinos are a different matter as they are not easy to rob from and THAT pizzes of Albany politicos. You have to wonder at the enthusiasm for a project that will take 2 separately elected legislatures and a statewide referendum to become law, a process that will take at least 2 years if they move now. Incredible waste of time. Meanwhile, we continue with little employment, higher taxes, restrictive regulations and a Welfare Society that will engulf us in those next few years. If this is what you want then sure, Cuomo is doing a great job. We taxpayers, the ones who actually pay the bills, including me do not think so.

Have we reformed our "no questions asked" welfare policy? Are our tax dollars still being used to fund several overlapping police agencys? Ive recently received several unsolicited brochures from Senator Farley. Whos paying for those? Do I still have to pay to use the Thruway, and pay taxes? Does NYS still use the Ton/mile tax, for commercial haulers? ETC. ETC. I think my answer is clear.

Amazing how people think that the Governor and or the President can really do anything that makes a different when you have the boneheads in both houses that have ruined this country and state. What is worse are the people that keep re-electing them time after time! Can anyone come up with a list of what Farley REALLY has done for us? I mean through out his never-ending term and not just before an election. Locally look at the Board of Stupidvisors has way too many "Party Members" controlling the board. What ever Stead wants he gets. Funny how the Infirmary director is quitting, will not comment, and alleged wants Jonny to talk for her. We need more independent candidates to help break up these power struggles and get this country back on track. I never did like Daddy Coumo, hopefully Junior isn’t a chip off the old block.

It's an oily situation. I'm considering one of those little all electric Nissan Leafs for short haul driving. Besides, let's face it, mankind will eventually drain the whole planet dry of everything useful before changing our habits.

Since were going a little aside here I would like to direct this comment to all the petrol-naysayers out there. If you are so against developing sources for energy why don't you put your 'money where your mouth is", stop using ANY products related to petroleum. Although you will end up stranded, bare-azzed and hungry you will be living (miserably) by you're convictions. Otherwise you are just another phony.

PeacefulWorld- Lets get real- They have been drilling for oil in the ocean for many years and will continue to do so, it is just necessary, why is drilling in the ground for natural gas any different? Maybe we should ban auto-mobiles to prevent air pollution, this is 2012, we need more jobs and better ways to lower our dependency on foreign oil, bring on Fracking.

when I heard about his spending a million dollars to translate all state documents in 6 or 7 languages, he lost all my support they only need to be in English. IF you can't read or understand English -- learn it

Promises, lofty rhetoric and good intentions does not fit in my wallet. The new meme is to blame current problems on those who came before them and most people let them get away with it. If any of you think that 85% of your prop. taxes going to programs you are not eligible for is a good thing then you've been snookered. I'm waiting for measurable ACTION. (insert cricket sound here).
